The Terror episode 8 sneak peek: Crozier questions Hickey’s story
For example, are the native Inuit people really responsible for some of the murders? This is obviously a plan that Cornelius Hickey (pictured) did his best to orchestrate, making all sorts of moves in which to make it seem as though his fellow men were a victim of an attack. At the tail end of the episode, we saw precisely how far he was willing to go in order to make that happen; it was pretty brutal and pretty grotesque. His logic here is almost him trying to prey on the prejudice of his own men, knowing that they will imagine it impossible to think that anyone other than the Inuit would be guilty of such horrific acts. It’s a part of a larger plan in mind — Hickey has his own vision for how to handle this crisis and over this episode, we’re going to see that clash rather strongly with some of Crozier’s own ideals.
You can already see some of that in the sneak peek below, as Crozier doubts elements of Hickey’s story enough that he asks to view the bodies himself. He doesn’t want to just take him at his word since there are parts of the story that do not quite add up to him. This should be a fascinating battle of wits made even more fascinating by the fact that many of these characters don’t even have their wits about them anymore. This is a crew of tired, hungry people who are desperately seeking survival — it’s a slow descend into peril, but that descent could accelerate even further as we start to push into the final episodes.
