Last Man Standing season 7 revival may happen at Fox
According to a report from Deadline, Tim Allen has already signed a deal to come back aboard the comedy series for another season and there are active negotiations with many of the other cast members to come back for more, as well. This show was an enormous hit in Middle America through much of its run, but was shockingly canceled by ABC in a move that many have found controversial. While there were some issues stemming from the relationship between the network and the studio 20th Century Fox TV, many fans have theorized that the conservative nature of the series and its star led to it concluding earlier than expecting.
Of course, here’s the irony to all of us: ABC now has Roseanne, a series featuring a heavy Donald Trump supporter in Roseanne Barr who has drawn far more attention for her political beliefs than Allen ever did. Politics aside, you have to think that if that network had paired up Roseanne and Last Man Standing they would have one of the most-formidable family-comedy pairs in all of television.
As it is, Last Man Standing going over to Fox does make a lot of sense given that the studio and the network share such a close relationship — though with Disney purchasing much of the company, we do wonder once again if things could’ve been different and the show could’ve headed back to ABC to capitalize on Roseanne ratings. Either way, it probably doesn’t matter much since fans of the series are going to be thrilled to see it back. This isn’t official as of yet, but there are certainly some reasons to believe that it’s happening given that Fox needs hit comedies and they also probably want to capture some of the Last Man Standing demographic.
