The Terror episode 8 preview: Sniffing out stragglers
What we’ve seen to date is that Cornelius Hickey is a man who will do whatever he needs to do in order to stay alive, which of course leads to a pretty obvious statement: Some of the ideas that are in his head are not exactly the same as the ideas that some of the other members of the crew are pursing. Sooner or later, this is going to be a problem — but Crozier has to figure it all out first and we’re not in a position as of yet where that is happening.
If you do want to get some other insight now as to what’s coming, we suggest that you take a look at the Terror episode 8 synopsis below:
After an officer is killed under mysterious circumstances, paranoia takes hold of the camp. While investigating what happened, Captain Crozier discovers that while most of men have turned their energies to the common good, a small band of others may have begun to imagine alternatives.
What makes this episode so exciting is mostly because the tension is mounting as the ranks are starting to slim down. It doesn’t appear as though this is a story with a happy ending; we’re not so much focused on whether or not the characters are going to survive, at least based on the history in which The Terror is based. The question that we’re a little more interested in discussing at present is simply this: How in the world the demise of so many others is going to happen. This is a cold, bleak story that often traces back to some of the decisions individual people made in the midst of some hard times.
