Blue Bloods season 8: Should Jamie be a sergeant by finale’s end?
Should he? There is a risk that of course comes with doing it, with the biggest part of that being that if he gets promoted, it changes the show. What happens if Jamie is a sergeant? How he will get to spend time with Eddie? If this move means that we end up seeing less Vanessa Ray on the show it’s hard to be for it. (We don’t get enough of Eddie on Blue Bloods as it is.) Yet, if there is a way to make this move so that Jamie is somehow more involved, we could be all for it. There are ways to promote him and keep Eddie in his orbit.
There is of course, one other interesting dimension to this whole debate — would the promotion mean that Jamie and Eddie could get together romantically? We’ve discussed this before, but there are some interesting implications that could come with Jamko if Jamie does get the promotion. The obvious advantage here is that Jamie going through with this basically means that the two don’t have the issue of being partners and in a romantic relationship.
Yet, is it really any better of Jamie is her superior and the two are together? We’re no expert on police ethics but there could be situations in which that is somewhat problematic.
One way or another, there is one thing we do know for sure is this: We want to see a resolution to Jamie and the sergeant story by the end of the season.
