Outlander notes: Season 3 gag reel’s TV debut; A brief Brianna tease
With the season 3 DVD coming in America on April 10, we assumed that there were going to be some outtakes coming in the near future. Now, that is pretty much official. According to Entertainment Tonight reporter Leanne Aguilera on Twitter you’ll get a chance to see some great outtakes on Friday night’s new episode of the entertainment news magazine. If you’re interested in checking those out in advance of the DVD release this is your best venue in which to do so.
Earlier today, we published a piece explaining that the DVD release may be one of the reasons we are not getting a season 4 teaser in the immediate future, mostly because it makes a little bit of sense for Starz to want to space out some of their promotion as much as humanly possible. After all, if they were give everything away all of their teasers now they could have some more empty months before the show returns this fall. You gotta get some promotion in there everywhere you can!
What the season 3 gag reel represents is something that we do all need in this world — a little bit of joy and laughter. It’s also a reminder that while Outlander may be a serious set at times, there are still some times in which everyone can have a good laugh.
Brianna’s on set!
Just in case you needed another reminder that season 4 is probably going to be the biggest one for Sophie Skelton on Outlander to date, we present to you the latest “Heard on Set” tease via executive producer Maril Davis. Apparently, Bree was a part of a scene today, or was at least the main subject of discussion during it.
Based on where the show is in production right now (book spoilers ahead), Brianna should be now officially in the past. Sam Heughan noted recently at the time of the Emmy panel in Los Angeles that he was about to film the big meeting between the two characters; at this point in production, we should be on the other side of it. It’s wonderful news that we’ll get to see Skelton work alongside Caitriona Balfe and Heughan, but when you consider everything else that is going on when it comes to her character this season, there are still causes for concern.

From an acting perspective there is a lot to cherish coming up. The struggle, as always is having to wait around through the end of the Droughtlander. Hopefully, some of our sporadic updates help to make the wait a little bit easier!
