Finale Forecast: Should Scorpion season 4 prepare for the worst-case scenario?
What’s the reason for that? Without going down some sort of super-deep ratings rabbit hole, the simplest explanation is just that the numbers are down as a function of competition and also the necessity to watch the series live. Since it is heavily procedural and many of the cases week after week are somewhat similar, there is therefore little reason to check it out as it’s airing as opposed to just watching or streaming it down the line. At the moment, this is at least what seems to be happening here and it’s going to be tough to change that around without also changing what the show is.
For the sake of this article, though, we want to go ahead and present our four expectations for the Scorpion finale in the latest chapter of our ongoing Finale Forecast article series.
1. Some sort of Walter / Paige revelation – It doesn’t necessarily have to be the two getting engaged, especially since it wasn’t all that long ago that we had something similar happen with Happy and Toby. We just want a sign that they are moving more in that direction.
2. A case that lasts longer than a single episode – It would be fun to see a three or maybe four-episode arc that challenges Team Scorpion as we know it and makes them question whether or not they can continue to move forward together. Put these characters in a position that they have not been in to date.
3. Happy and Toby are expecting a baby – We’ve spent so much time this season building towards this that if the series were to go away from it now it would actually be somewhat disappointing.
4. Some sort of conclusive ending – Given that the series’ future is relatively uncertain at the moment, we would certainly prefer it if the writers chose to make the finale into something that could function as either a series or season finale. That way, no matter what we are all satisfied.
