TV Madness 2018: The Blacklist, Chicago Fire battle in round 2
Above, you can see our full bracket, complete with entries, their seeds, and start/end dates. Once you are within the bracket, the dates listed are when the previous poll ends and the next one begins! We’ve got a great group of shows taking part this year, with some newbies as well as others who have been a part of the tournament every single year. The voting rules are pretty simple — you can vote however often you would like on however many devices that you would like! If you are on mobile and you are having a problem seeing the poll at the bottom of the article for whatever reason, be sure to click to view the non-AMP version of the page at the bottom of the article.
For this round 2 battle, we have two shows who each won their first showdown of the tournament pretty handily — with that in mind, we do think that we’re building up towards something pretty big here! Both The Blacklist and Chicago Fire each have devoted followings and are staples of NBC; they’re also two of the favorite shows we cover at CarterMatt. This may be a battle that is pretty hard to call going in because both series have shown to have passionate fan bases.
Now that we’ve set the stage, let’s get to breaking down these entries further. Voting for this round remains open until Friday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time.
The Blacklist (#1 seed) – With its #1 seed in mind we expected the James Spader – Megan Boone series to roll right through SEAL Team and that it most certainly did! The next challenge for this series is going to be figuring out how to withstand the challenge of the Firehouse 51 crew. Chi-Hards are a passionate bunch and they’ve always got reasons to want to support this show — as do fans of The Blacklist. Didn’t we mention that this was going to be tough?
Chicago Fire (#4 seed) – Going into the tournament this year we felt as though Chicago Fire was somewhat of a wild card. It lost in the first round last year but it was a close-enough showdown that we knew it had potential to go so much further. Now, it’s officially done that. The NBC show overtook Blue Bloods in the first round by a pretty sizable margin and is ready to battle it out in round two for the first time in TV Madness tournament history.
