The X-Files season 11 finale spoilers: ‘My Struggle IV’; saving William

The X-Files season 11 finale is airing on Fox in one week’s time and it is fair to say that this episode will be more powerful than most. The title here is “My Struggle IV” and the cornerstone of this episode is going to be seeing if there is a way for Mulder and Scully can finally bring William to safety. They know already that he is far from an ordinary boy, and they are absolutely the right people in order to help him.

Unfortunately, and as is always the case with this show, things when it comes to a rescue mission are not exactly going to be so black-and-white. There is going to be someone trying throw a wedge in between in the form of the Cigarette Smoking Man, who is clearly going to have some plans of his own. For a little bit more news when it comes to what to expect, be sure to check out the X-Files season 11 finale synopsis below:

Mulder and Scully rush to find an on-the-run William, while the Cigarette Smoking Man pushes forward with his ultimate plan in the all-new “My Struggle IV” season finale episode of THE X-FILES airing Wednesday, March 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Of course, we can’t do an X-Files season 11 finale article without addressing the enormous elephant in the room: Whether or not this is going to be the final episode for the series as a whole. At the moment it absolutely feels possible given the quotes from Gillian Anderson about this being her final episode of the show. She hasn’t flinched with that sentiment and we don’t want to see the series go on without her. Mulder and Scully are the foundation of The X-Files. They are the heart and soul of it, and if you want to do something else within that universe you might as well just call it a different name and pretend like it is a different show altogether.

Hopefully, next week everything will become clearer when it comes to how Scully’s storyline wraps up one way or another.
