Gotham season 4 episode 16: Ben McKenzie directing once more
There’s a double-dose of good news when it comes to Gotham season 4 episode 16, starting with the fact that it sounds like it will be a killer story! Also, this episode marks a return of Ben McKenzie as director! This is the second time in which he has taken on this role for an episode of the series, with the other recent one coming last year.

Arkham’s “finest” give Gordon and Bullock a run for their money, as they hatch a plan to escape the asylum. Meanwhile, Bruce devises his own strategy to thwart their plans. Also, Barbara gets an offer she can’t refuse in the all-new “A Dark Knight: One Of My Three Soups” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, March 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
There are a few different exciting things to note about this episode, starting with the fact that Cameron Monaghan is going to be back as Jerome! One of the things that is a little bit different about this season is that while Gotham in the past has put all of the Jerome appearances one right after the next, they are spreading things out a little bit more this time around. Meanwhile, this episode is also going to bring you more of Benedict Samuel as the Mad Hatter, a character who really hasn’t been all that much of a factor so far this season. You will also have David W. Thompson as the new Scarecrow; if you missed the recent reports, the most-recent Scarecrow from the past is departing because of a scheduling conflict.

It seems as though Gordon has a fairly substantial story to play within this episode, which should be interesting mostly from the vantage point of McKenzie needing to direct himself at times. We will see precisely how that ends up panning out.
