In this article, the focus is on Jessie Larson, a guy from Saskatchewan who is coming on board this season with the hopes of finding a big alliance and then using his physical and social skills to go far. Jesse is one of the 14 houseguests who will be in the game from the jump.
Take a look at the pre-game interview below.
CarterMatt – Tell me about yourself — your name, your age, and where you’re from.
Jesse – My name is Jesse, I’m 24, and I’m from Saskatoon.
What do you do for a living?
I’m an account executive for an IT company in Saskatoon.
What made you want to be on Big Brother Canada this season?
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I couldn’t pass it down when there was a live casting call in Saskatoon for the first time ever. I figured I would go try out — I think I’m the perfect candidate for this show!
Are you a fan of the show?
I’ve seen all of the seasons of Big Brother Canada and I’m excited to be a part of the sixth.
What’s your strategy for winning this season?
I think an alliance with five or six people from the start would be super-helpful. I’m not set on that, but I just think that being in an alliance of numbers early will help me get to the second half. At that point, we’ll go from there.
Who are you most like from past Big Brother seasons, US or Canada?
I like Bruno a lot just for the strategic aspect of his game — I feel like we’re pretty comparable. Myself, physically and socially, is probably the closest to Zach.
What’s the one part of your life at home you’re going to miss the most in the game?
Family and friends, obviously, and my phone is up there for sure. I have a business back in Saskatoon, so dropping that and not knowing the status of that is really frustrating (laughs).
Who is your biggest idol in life and why?
I really look up to my sister even though she’s a year younger than me — she’s just got a positive attitude and is a super-caring person. I look up to her a lot.
How are you going to keep live feed viewers at home entertained?
Hopefully in a couple of ways, since I know there is going to be a lot of spare time. Hopefully I’ll get some activities going and be entertaining for all those live feeders.
Besides the money, what are you hoping to get out of this season?
Mainly the experience. It’s something that not everyone gets to try — being a part of a reality show, let alone one that’s happening in Canada. That’s what I am looking forward to the most other than the money.
First Impressions
Jessie has a good vibe and he doesn’t seem to be overly obnoxious and full of himself. Unless he’s just some enormous physical target it’s hard to imagine any way in which he goes right away — but still, in the aftermath of Kevin it’s going to be tough for any super-physical guy to make it far without being put on the block.
