The Blacklist season 5 sending Liz and Reddington on Ian Garvey collision course
While Liz and Reddington may work together somewhat in their pursuit of Garvey, know this: Forces are eventually going to collide here and it’s going to be ugly. Here’s a little bit more of what executive producer Jon Bokenkamp had to say on that story to Entertainment Weekly:
“We now know that Ian Garvey is a U.S. Marshal, so he has resources and he’s well protected … But what to do with Garvey is the real problem. Red wants Garvey to be buried along with his secret. Liz wants Garvey alive so she can get to the truth behind why Tom died. At some point, those two differing agendas are going to collide.”
When this collision happens it’s probably going to be awesome for us as a viewer. What makes Reddington and Liz so dynamic, and also what makes James Spader and Megan Boone so awesome in these roles, is that the two can play so many different dimensions. There’s something great about seeing the two of them working together; yet, at the same time there’s also something equally strong about having the two coming after each other. There’s a thin line sometimes between love and hate and this series does a good job of playing that with these characters. They care about each other, but how much can they really trust each other — if at all?
