Top Chef: Colorado rankings: Where do the chefs stand entering finals?
What we do like about this season overall is the parity of it. While there may be a somewhat-clear favorite of the remaining four chefs plus the Last Chance Kitchen winner, there’s nobody we consider to be the most-likely boot coming into the next episode. Every chef remaining is bringing a lot of advantages and disadvantages to the table and there’s also one other thing we are currently contemplating: Momentum. Is there such a thing as that with this competition? We’ve seen it enough in past seasons to start to buy into it a little bit.
6. Brother Luck – He’s had the most impressive journey to date just on the basis of how many competitions he’s won in Last Chance Kitchen in order to even make it to this point. Yet, simultaneously the odds may be tilted slightly in Joe Flamm’s favor to make it into the top five.
5. Joe Flamm – It’s mostly based on the edit, but we personally feel like Brother’s journey is going to be cut just short of the finale. Joe left Top Chef proper in a really crummy way via Sudden Death Quickfire and he could be eager to get redemption. Yet, it’s also hard to rank him higher when he’s not guaranteed to get into the top five.
4. Chris Scott – Our favorite chef this season and also the chef whose food we’d want to eat the most. Yet, we’re also considering the fact that he’s experienced some level of danger in four out of the past six episodes. That’s a much higher ratio than we’re seeing with anyone else in the finals. Momentum isn’t on his side.
3. Joe Sasto – If there was a chef who could suddenly turn things on and dominate at the end of the season, it’s Joe — we’re speaking here of a guy who technically may have the broadest skill set out of anyone. He just needs to figure out how to hone it down.
2. Adrienne Cheatham – This is where we bring up momentum. A month ago, there’s a zero percent chance we rank Adrienne so high. It feels now like there’s wind under her skills and she’s really discovered herself more than ever in this season.
1. Carrie Baird – It’s amazing to think that the most dominant chef this season is someone who was in danger the very first episode. Yet, she got that jeopardy out of the way at the start and hasn’t been in danger since. She and Chris each have four individual wins, the most out of anyone.
