SEAL Team season 1: Is new Jason love interest coming?

At the moment, it’s fair to be reeling a little bit from what we saw on the last new episode of the series — after all, his split from Alana was heartbreaking, even if her reasoning made sense and the two handled it the best way they could. (It was easily one of the more mature breakups we’ve seen on television in recent memory.) These two characters will move forward to whatever their future holds, with the focus being more on Jason now that the character is in deployment.

Is there a new love interest coming his way in the process? It’s possible, given what David Boreneaz told TVLine on the subject. We do want the character to be happy, and it’s possible that he may be able to find someone while out on deployment who compliments what his life actually is at the moment. This could be a fun thing for the series to explore … depending of course on how it plays out. CarterMatt has certainly covered many great unexpected romances over the years that stem from a breakup or a character death; the concern here is mostly that it may be too soon and Jason may not have his head above water yet when it comes to what happened with Alana. It’s in his personality to want to move on, but he may not be consciously aware of the emotional hold Alana still has over him. Many times that kind of realization comes out after time has passed.

What you should be excited about at the moment with this story is that it will give Boreanaz some great material that could throw Jason into a variety of different directions emotionally — beyond just romance, remember that the character is out there putting his life on the line! That will likely complicate the feelings that he has for anyone, whether it be Alana or anyone else.
