TV Revivals results: Dark Matter advances to final round
Today marks the conclusion of the first round of the TV Revivals series! If you haven’t heard, what we’re doing this year for our ongoing feature is discussing at length 15 different shows that all are worthy of coming back in some shape or form, writing features about them, and then having you also share some of your own favorites via polls.
Over the course of this past week, CarterMatt readers have been voting for five different shows in Chuck, Dark Matter, Dexter, Girl Meets World, and Rizzoli & Isles in order to determine which one of them is worthy of being a part of our final round come February 21. (The next five shows will be unveiled with their own poll later today.) While all of the entries had some nice representation, the end result here wasn’t altogether close — Dark Matter is moving on to the next round.
With a solid 55% of the overall vote, the once-canceled-by-Syfy series had more votes than all of the other shows combined — which shouldn’t come as too great of a shock when you consider the overall passion of Dark Matter fans. These people are a contingent who fought really hard to save the show after its initial cancellation, and while it was unable to find a new home at that time that doesn’t mean necessarily that it’s gone for good. Even if it never returns to TV, there are certainly plenty of other ways in which to keep the Raza Crew alive.
For now, we’re just happy to see it moving forward and to provide any prospective executives out there reason to think that Dark Matter is a show worth saving — or, at the very least, it’s worthy of a little bit of their time to research.
