Shalita Grant leaving NCIS: New Orleans during season 4
Speaking to Variety, the actress’ managed Didi read stated simply that it was “just time for a change … This is about moving on to the next great thing.” Nonetheless, this is a pretty major shock given that we’re only a few episodes from that happening and we’re right in the middle of the season. This is not something that often happens, especially without some extent of warning in advance.
Grant made her first appearances on the show as Percy during the first season, and was promoted after the fact to a regular for season 2. She’s become one of the most-important characters on the series; to be specific, the relationship with Percy and LaSalle has become one of the most-popular ones on the entire NCIS franchise. If the two were ever going to get together, there’s certainly not much time for it to happen.

Our hope is that no matter how this story ends that there is room for Percy to return down the line — in general, though, this is the second major departure of a female cast member in just four seasons. Remember the exit of Zoe McLellan? She was a part of the earlier seasons of the show before departing.
The next new NCIS: New Orleans episode will air on Tuesday night; after that, the series will go on hiatus until the end of February. Expect to see the final episode for Grant to be coming at some point in March.
