Scorpion season 4 episode 13: Amy Berkstead, Toby Curtis come face to face (video)
For those who aren’t altogether familiar with the Amy character, let’s just say that she has a pretty extensive and personal history with Toby Curtis! They were engaged to be married … or at least they were until Toby’s own gambling problem got in the way. Shantel VanSanten of Shooter and The Flash is playing the part, and this should offer up some fun scenes on what is a pretty fun/lighthearted show.
In the sneak peek below (via SpoilerTV), you can get a little more of a sense as to how Toby and Amy reunite in the midst of a mission Team Scorpion is on — one that technically, Toby was not hired to be a part of. Yet, Toby is not the sort of person who will be able to handle knowing that someone doesn’t want him to be a part of a mission. He wants to know why this client didn’t ask for his services … and after sneaking in to the bunker Walter and company were visiting, he quickly learns why: The client is Quincy. Toby and Quincy certainly have their own history, so the two of them seeing each other is quite the awkward moment — and that is before Amy even enters the picture.

The question to wonder based on this sneak is what sort of connection Amy and Toby still have — does this bring back good or bad memories for him? Does Amy still hold any sort of control over him, and if she does, what does that mean for Toby and Happy? There are a number of fun dynamics to explore here and we’re glad to have an opportunity to see this story play out. It’s a worthy start for Scorpion in the new year.
