Critics’ Choice Awards 2018 winners list: Who are the TV champions?

Going into the night on The CW, the one biggest thing we’ll say that we’re hoping for is a wide array of different winners. We want to see people from all sorts of shows get some recognition, and not just the same favorites we’ve seen take home hardware time and time again.

Best TV Movie – The Wizard of Lies. How can anyone be shocked? It’s one of the few TV movie nominations most critics and viewers have heard about.

Supporting Actor, Comedy – Walton Goggins, Vice Principals. We’re so happy for him! This was a brilliant performance in an absolutely-insane role.

Supporting Actress, Comedy – Mayim Bialik, The Big Bang Theory. A much-deserved win! So far through the comedy categories the critics have totally gotten it right.

Supporting Actor, Drama – David Harbour, Stranger Things. We’re rather disappointed that he didn’t get to be on The CW so that everyone could hear this speech.

Supporting Actress, Drama – Ann Dowd, The Handmaid’s Tale. This was a very lovely award for a woman who never quite gets any of the credit she deserves.

Supporting Actor, Limited Series / Movie – Alexander Skarsgard, Big Little Lies. The best part of his speech was when he realized that he was too tall for the mic.

Supporting Actress, Limited Series / Movie – Laura Dern, Big Little Lies. Some ways you can just see coming a mile away.

Actor, Drama – Sterling K. Brown, This Is Us. We could listen to Sterling give a speech any day of the week.

Actor, Drama – Elisabeth Moss, The Handmaid’s Tale. While the Critics’ Choice Awards may have been surprising in some aspects, the leading actor ones are not.

Best Drama Series – The Handmaid’s Tale. A great series, but also familiar territory.

Limited Series – Big Little Lies. Rinse and repeat.

Actor in a Limited Series – Ewan McGregor, Fargo. For doing TWO different roles he clearly deserves it.

Actress in a Limited Series – Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies. While this may be another predictable win, so does she.

Actor, Comedy – Ted Danson, The Good Place. An underdog winners! Clearly, one of the best victories of the entire night.

Actress, Comedy – Rachel Brosnahan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The hot streak for Brosnahan continues onward after her Golden Globes win.
