Janet McTeer joins Ozark season 2; get details on her role!
So how will Janet McTeer factor into the Ozark season 2 cast? Let’s just say that she is going to challenge the Byrde family in some surprising ways.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, McTeer, who is already a part of another series at Netflix in Marvel’s Jessica Jones, is going to have a major role as a currently-unnamed attorney who will have some surprising connections to the cartel at the center of the series. What does that mean for Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney)? Let’s just say that she will serve as some sort of threat to them and cause some unexpected problems to arise.
Ozark season 2 is definitely a season that we’ve got huge expectations for. While we anticipated the first batch of episodes to be nothing short of amazing, it’s almost at another level thanks to A) the critical acclaim and B) what we now like to think of as the Battle of the Ozarks. With the third season of True Detective filming in the region, there is now all of a sudden a real showdown to see which show is better … or at least that’s how it feels in our mind. The Ozarks aren’t actually a part of the country we see represented on TV all that often, so it’s pretty unusual to see two shows feature the location so close to one another (technically, Ozark films most of its season in Georgia) — just as it’s also equally strange to see someone have a major role on two Netflix series one right after the other. McTeer is basically going from Jessica Jones over to Ozark, and we’ll see if this ends up being a one-season gig for her. (Obviously, a big part of this debate is going to boil down to whether or not there is a third season coming up down the road.)
If you haven’t seen Ozark season 1 just yet, let’s keep our advice relatively simple at the moment: Watch it. Why wouldn’t you want to? If you love good, captivating drama with great characters, it’s hard to go wrong with this show.
