Absentia photo shoot coming to Amazon with Stana Katic

Ever since it was first announced that Absentia was going to be coming to Amazon, one of the biggest hopes we had was that the streaming provider was going to be doing everything that they could to promote the show. While we know this may be an acquisition as opposed to some of their other original series, Absentia is still worth some of their promotional money in the event it drives more users to their Prime service. Amazon may be best known for the free shipping and shows like Man in the High Castle, but there is still some work to be done in giving the service some high-profile content that will generate a lot of buzz.

There is a good chance that Absentia could be that show, with much of the reason for it starting with Katic. They have a fantastic lead who already is well-known to many prospective viewers thanks to her work on Castle. The main order of business for Amazon (and studio Sony) is making sure that these viewers are well aware that this show is coming out. You already know that Katic’s own fan base is going to do their part to get the word out there.

One of the things CarterMatt knows is that Amazon or Sony is staging an Absentia photo shoot with Stana. This was confirmed on the Instagram post below from stylist David Keough. Absentia is premiering on the streaming service in February, and clearly someone is doing everything that they can in order to ensure that this new season has some of the best buzz around it possible. As for how these very-glam photos are going to be used — whether it be through Amazon directly or some other outlet designed to promote the show — that’s what we have to wait in order to see.

Luckily, everyone out there excited to see Absentia already knows a thing or two about waiting. We’ve already been doing that for well over three months since new episodes first started to premiere in other countries.
