Grey’s Anatomy season 14: Three characters who need more airtime
In general, CarterMatt would say that the first batch of episodes were quite good for a number of people, including Meredith, Alex, Amelia, and Owen. Jo’s storyline is starting to heat up, and we had some good moments here and there for Jackson and Arizona. The way the season is structured is that some storylines have a tendency to ebb and flow a little bit — characters will rise to the forefront while some others tend to dip back down. The three following characters are ones who could benefit still from having a more substantial storyline, one that enables them to step into the spotlight and get a little bit more love from the fans.
1. April – Other than some moments with Jackson and supporting a few other characters, we’d say that we’re in need of a big Sarah Drew storyline that is her own story separate from almost everyone else. It’s been a while since we have had that and it’d be nice to check in with her and see where her worldview is at after such a substantial period of time.
2. Bailey – This is heating up with Ben getting set to join the firefighter spin-off at some point later this season. Yet, we still want to see more of her running the hospital and less of her tied to this relationship. She had a pretty meaty storyline last year with her decision to bring on board Eliza Minnick — it didn’t end up being the right move for many of the doctors, but it was still a fascinating story to watch since we saw how she reconciled being the leader of the team with being a friend to so many other characters.
3. Webber – Other than being with Catherine and all of that awkward Jackson – Maggie stuff, what’s really going on here with Richard? Where is his life at, and how is he feeling about his job at the moment? He’s the elder statesman of the hospital and we do think we would benefit from a larger storyline showing how he continues to react to some of the changes around him and his evolving personal relationship with Maggie.
