The Good Fight season 2 premiere date set at CBS All Access; Gary Cole returns
The streaming series is going to return with new episodes on Sunday, March 4, which is a slightly shocking premiere date for one reason and one reason only: That’s also the air date for the Academy Awards! When you consider that this is one of film’s biggest nights and the awards-show has a fairly upscale audience, it would be understandable to wait on The Good Fight (an especially upscale show) for an extra week.
Yet, that’s not happening. The logic here may very well be the there’s less of a pressing need to wait when there is no immediate need for viewers to watch during the Oscars. All CBS All Access likely hopes for are subscribers, and maybe there will be even more in the new year given that there are some people who are probably going to be signing up for live feeds on Celebrity Big Brother.
This is not the only good news pertaining to The Good Fight season 2 that we have for you today — we can also tell you that you will see more of Gary Cole as Kurt McVeigh! He and Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) have long had a tumultuous relationship, but the two parties will remain in one another’s lives. We’ll get a chance to see if their dynamic has changed since the end of season 1. Judging from what executive producers Robert and Michelle King told TVLine, you’ll get a good sense before too long as to where their heads are at when it comes to their relationship:
“When Season 2 picks up, Diane and Kurt are still separated, but have warm feelings for each other … Kurt has been in Los Angeles for big trial, which has meant a lot of time apart that’s allowed them to postpone the question of what’s next.”
Eventually that trial is going to end, and that means that they’re going to have to sare each other face to face and start to wonder if they have much of a future at all.
