The Amazing Race 30 cast: Jessica & Cody joined by Shawn Marion, Joey Chestnut

The Amazing Race 30 may have set up Big Brother: Celebrity Edition with a challenge — we’d argue that it has a few people in its cast more famous than anyone Big Brother is going to get when it premieres in February. While we’re not the biggest fan of stunt casting in the world, there are a couple of intriguing names in the Amazing Race 30 cast joining the already-announced Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf, ironically from Big Brother this past season.

CarterMatt has the list of competitors taking part in the season below.

Shawn Marion and Cedric Ceballos – Former NBA players. Both actually played for the Dallas Mavericks, albeit at different times. Shawn is nicknamed the Matrix and is best remembered by us for a super-strange jumpshot.

Joey Chestnut and Tim Janus – Competitive eaters. Tim is now retired, and you likely know Joey from the one time a year he downs dozens of hot dogs.

Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak – Professional skiers. Kristi is now retired whereas Jen is still active. Perfect time to get some skiers on board before the Winter Olympics.

Alexander Rossi and Conor Daly – IndyCar drivers. Rossi is the 2016 winner of the Indianapolis 500, so it’s fair to say that he’s kind of a big deal.

Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf – As mentioned earlier, “Jody” (as they are called) were both a part of Big Brother season 19 this past summer and became romantically involved.

Dessie Mitcheson and Kayla Fitzgerald – Instagram models and ring girls. It’s not the first time the Race has brought on Instagram models, and it probably won’t be the last given the assumption that they bring viewers to the show.

April Gould and Sarah Williams – The first team we’ve mentioned that doesn’t include some sort of celebrity. They are apparently goat yoga instructors — we thought goat was a nickname for something a la GOAT (greatest of all time). Nope! THIS IS YOGA WITH GOATS, PEOPLE.

Henry Zhang and Evan Lynyak – A young dating couple who are some of the best debaters out there. Henry was the president of the Yale debate team and Evan was the top-ranking female debater in the world in 2016.

Trevor Wadleigh and Chris Merchant – Back to reasonably-famous people. They are a part of the chart-topping string quartet Well Strung. They are also dating.

Lucas Bocanegra and Brittany Austin – They both work within the ocean rescue / lifeguard space and they are (no surprise) dating.

Eric Guiffreda and Daniel Guiffreda – Twin brothers and also firefighters. Hooray, a sibling team in the midst of everyone else on here! We love family teams and they’re not often a part of the Race these days.
