Hawaii Five-0 season 8 Christmas episode scoop: McGarrett’s party
So what will be happening for Steve McGarrett and company? According to a new report out of the latest TV Guide (thanks to SpoilerTV for the excerpt), there is going to be a holiday celebration thrown at Steve’s house with many familiar faces in attendance — given that Kamekona will be there, does that mean we’ll get a chance to see some tasty cuisine?
This festive occasion is going to be all about giving back, as Steve will be inviting some men and women in the military (played by real-life veterans) over for a holiday feast. It’s a chance to pay tribute to the people who fight so we can continue to celebrate holidays like Christmas, and their sacrifices are somewhat lost this time of year given that many people out there are often focused on different things. It’s a rather nice thing (especially at around this time) to see a show like Hawaii Five-0 cast a light on some of the people fighting for the country.
Executive producer Peter Lenkov notes that “if there’s anything this episode has, it’s heart.” Maybe there will be some super-humorous moments over the course of the hour, but at the end of the day this seems designed to be a tear-jerker. Sometimes, you do need that this time of year in order to be a little bit reflective over everything that’s transpired in the months that have passed. This episode airs on December 15, and should usher you into the remainder of the holiday season — even though CBS doesn’t have a tendency to announce many of their fall / winter finales in advance, the Christmas episodes often serve as that for the network. More than likely there won’t be any additional episode of Hawaii Five-0 following this one until January.
