Power season 5 filming video: Behind the scenes with 50 Cent, Omari Hardwick, cast
The video below comes courtesy of the show’s official Twitter account, and it gives you a perfectly good sense of where we are picking up in the aftermath of season 4. It does not appear as though the writers are glossing over anything when it comes to the biggest tragedy of the entire series to date: The death of Ghost’s daughter Raina. He will still be hurting and coming to terms to terms with what happened and what that means for the future. This is a broken man now — his daughter is gone and it is largely in part because of his son, who is very much on the road to becoming a reflection of himself. That’s not something that Ghost wants.
While Ghost may be distraught in Power season 5, Omari Hardwick seems energetic and happy in the video — it’s pretty clear that the entire Power cast seems to enjoy working together still. This also includes 50 Cent, which is rather nice to see after he expressed some frustration with the episode count from this past season and wanting to spend some more time telling some stories in the middle of the season. He promises (he’s an executive producer on the show alongside showrunner Courtney Kemp and others) that there are some more surprises that are coming up — he’s going to have a tough time topping some of the surprises that were there from Power season 4 but more power to him for trying.
The video also features a few other performers, including new series regular Larenz Tate (who first appeared on the show last season as Councilman Tate) and also Naturi Naughton, whose character of Tasha concluded the fourth season in a bad spot after taking the fall after Tariq decided to get revenge for Raina’s death by killing Ray Ray.
Power season 5 is set to premiere at some point in 2018 — presumably the summer. To get some additional news about it now we suggest that you head over to the link here.
