Will & Grace lands a trio of Scandal actors for guest star roles
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are no details on their roles at this time; however, we do know that Emmy-winner Dan Buctinsky will reprise his role as Neil. If will recall, Neil appeared in Season 2 episode called “The Hospital Show” as the man who went on a very unsuccessful date with Will.
This casting news brings up the question of how will Neil reappear in Will’s life. He could just run into him and decide to give a relationship another go. Or, now that Will is working with Grace, Neil could become a client and Will has to go the entire time pretending that it’s not awkward. It definitely be a funny episode; we are confident in the writers that no matter the capacity in which they bring back Neil, it’s going to make us laugh until our stomachs hurt.
In addition, to Bucatinsky (The Comeback, 24: Legacy and the upcoming Steven Spielberg newspaper drama, The Post), Letscher (Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, The Carrie Diaries and Boardwalk Empire), and Bostwick (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cougar Town), Aquarius grad Andy Favreau has also booked a guest role on the show; unsurprisingly, details about his role are also under wraps.
Other notable names who have made guest appearances on the show include Jane Lynch, Max Greenfield, Andrew Rannells, Minnie Driver, Harry Connick Jr., Leslie Jordan, and Kyle Bornheimer. Still set to reprise their roles are Bobby Cannavale and Molly Shannon; you definitely don’t want to miss those. Cannavale will reprise his role as Will’s love Vince D’Angelo and Shannon will reprise her role as Will and Grace’s neighbor, Val Bassett.
Will & Grace will return with new episodes on January 4 at 9 p.m. Eastern. The series is currently in hiatus due to Thursday Night Football on NBC; however, according to NBC’s website, a special Christmas episode of Will & Grace will air on December 5. More news on that is forthcoming.
