Scandal season 7 episode 5 spoilers: ‘Adventures in Babysitting’
Based on the Scandal season 7 episode 5 synopsis below, we also think that this is a reference to what is going on when it comes to Quinn Perkins and Associates’ latest mission:
Olivia and Mellie assert their power like never before; meanwhile, Cyrus is working on congressional approval to declare war in Bashran, and QPA is keeping close watch on President Rashad’s niece.
For us as a viewer, seeing Quinn and the rest of her team having to watch over someone could be both rather boring and also rather frustrating; yet, for us we have a feeling that it will prove to be so much more exciting than they would assume in advance. There are a number of different reasons to think so, with the biggest one simply being that this is Scandal and therefore this is a show that lives to go off the rails as much as humanly possible. That’s a big part of what makes it so addictive and entertaining.
As for Olivia and Mellie, there is a reasonable question that you have to ask on this subject: Are we going to be seeing the two of them eventually assert their power too much? These are both people who have been underestimated and disadvantaged for much of their political careers that this is their chance to stand in front of the Sun. Unfortunately, doing that for too long can get them burned and these two have absolutely showed a few times over at this point that there are each power-hungry in their own ways. That’s really just something you have to prepare for.
No matter what happens with Bashran and some other storylines in this episode, we don’t think we are anywhere close to the end of the road. We’re not even to the halfway point yet, so there’s a whole lot more to come.
Based on the promo below it appears that more so than anything, the story we’re going to be getting now is Olivia Pope versus everyone.
