Vice Principals season 2 episode 6 spoilers: Could Russell lose his job?

Vice Principals season 2 episode 6When you think about it moving into Vice Principals season 2 episode 6, Lee Russell’s job status is probably the biggest surprise. Think about all this guy has done tormenting his fellow teachers, setting things on fire, and being both physically and verbally abusive. How has he not gotten fired before now? He’s a terrible principal and has shown many an example of how terrible a human being he is.

There would be something really ironic about Russell potentially losing his job over something a little more benign, and it’s possible that could be what happens on “The Most Popular Boy,” which is airing on HBO in one week’s time. If you remember from your own time in school — at least depending on where you went to said school — one of the most important things to the school board was standardized test scores. They were almost the school version of the Nielsen ratings — they’re not an altogether accurate measurement of anything, but it’s the system that everyone uses because they don’t know of a better way to do the job. Bad test scores often equal trouble, whereas good test scores can give you unparalleled praise. Maybe Lee does something to tilt the scales in the favor of North Jackson High, or maybe one of the teachers does it and he is the fall guy.

Either way, we will laugh probably harder than we’ve ever laughed before with this show if test scores are the thing that actually nips Lee in the butt when the dust settles.

If you look below via HBO, you can see a little bit more information regarding just what is coming up in this episode.

Vice Principals season 2 episode 6 synopsis – “A plot to sabotage a standardized test jeopardizes Russell’s (Walton Goggins) job as Gamby (Danny McBride) is caught in the middle.”

This episode should be really interesting, especially since it could leave Gamby in a position where he has what he so seeks: The principal position. Will he do whatever he can to take it, or realize that he doesn’t want to be as cutthroat as Lee Russell has been for the entirety of the series? It’s a question that really should define where much of the story is going to go from here on out.
