Scandal season 7 episode 3 preview: Tony Goldwyn’s Fitz takes center stage
The story that is going to come up for him will be a spotlight like no other — hopefully this is one that proves to be worth the wait, and one that will make you excited to see how Fitz has transformed his life away from the Oval Office.
Scandal season 7 episode 3 synopsis – “During the first 100 days of Mellie’s presidency, Fitz stays out of the limelight in Vermont where he takes up life as an ordinary citizen for the first time in years. Marcus joins the former POTUS to begin important work on the Fitzgerald Grant III Presidential Library.”
The irony here is that this story on Scandal with Fitz does have some fairly-clear echoes at the same time with what’s been going on Veep as of late, but we do figure that things are going to be infinitely more serious here. Nothing for Fitz is never as easy as just him planning out a library. You have to think that there is more to his life than just chilling out in Vermont and enjoying some well-deserved peace and quiet.
Ultimately, do you really think that the final season of Scandal will leave the former President entirely on the sidelines? Also, do you really think that he will be separate from Olivia Pope? These two have so much history, good and bad, that they are unavoidable to each other. There’s a magnetism there, and that is something that should be explored a little bit more. It’s also an interesting spot now just because of the power dynamics here. After all, Olivia is now the Chief of Staff whereas Fitz, technically, doesn’t have any power at all. There is a little bit of notoriety that does come out of him being a former President, but that’s mostly put upon him by other people.
What do you think should be coming in regards to Scandal season 7 episode 3?
