Gotham season 4 episode 6 spoilers: Professor Pyg’s debut

Gotham season 4 episode 6

Gotham season 4 episode 6 marks the debut of Professor Pyg, otherwise known as one of the strangest/creepiest characters in Batman’s lore. This is someone who has a bizarre obsession with pigs and does all sorts of horrible things (read more about him here), and he is someone who could test Jim Gordon and the rest of the GCPD in ways that we haven’t quite seem them tested to date.

the fact that season 4 episode 6 is entitled “Hog Day Afternoon” should tell you much of what you need to know — though, for the record, we do also love that the writers came up with such a cheesy movie pun. The synopsis for the episode below makes it clear just what you can expect to see:

“Gordon and Bullock are hot on a serial killer who has been assassinating cops and dressing his victims in the severed heads of pigs as his signature mark. Meanwhile, Sofia tries to win over Penguin, and Thompkins, Nygma and Grundy find themselves an unlikely home at Cherry’s place in the all-new “A Dark Knight: Hog Day Afternoon” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Oct. 26 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.”

It really should not be considered a coincidence that this is an episode airing right before Halloween, given that this sounds like it could be some serious nightmare-fuel for some viewers out there. In between this character and the Scarecrow, we’re really getting in general some of the craziest, scariest Gotham stories that we’ve had a chance to see in a rather long time over the next several weeks.

As for the remainder of the synopsis, the biggest thing we’re interested in learning about here is what is happening with Lee Thompkins later this season. This is a character who clearly has been through a lot since she first debuted on the show and like many other regulars, she has multiple different iterations. It should prove rather interesting to see what this version of the character looks like. (It’s going to be hard for her to top the disparity between the old Butch Gilzean and the new Solomon Grundy, who we will be seeing presumably for the first time on episode 4×05.)
