NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 2: Bar Paly’s return coming sooner than expected

Bar Paly's return

There’s another change at CBS with their air dates: NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 2 is shaking things up. Originally, the episode “Assets” was set to air on Sunday night, but much like the network has changed things up with a number of other shows they’ve shaken things up here. (It’s hard to ascertain the reason for all the episode-order changes at CBS over the past week; one possible theory is that this is a response to the terrible attack in Las Vegas.)

Now, CBS has confirmed that “Se Murio El Payaso,” originally the third episode of the season, is going to air in just a few days. This will mark the first appearance of Bar Paly’s Anna of the season; she will of course be working with Callen once more, while at the same time you’re going to have a chance to see Sam take off in yet another undercover mission! These are pretty woven into the fabric of the show, and by and large we consider them to be a good time.

In the event you have not seen the synopsis for this upcoming episode before now, you can check that out below in full:

“When the daughter of a notorious counterfeiter arrives in Los Angeles, Sam is sent undercover as a financier, while Callen partners with Anna (Bar Paly) to track the family’s latest scheme, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Oct. 8 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”

As for the just-released promo below, it doesn’t necessarily offer you up too much more information beyond what we’ve reported already, but it does give you a small tease regarding Hetty’s mission and what she is up to in Vietnam. Her storyline is one of the things that we are the most worried about when it comes to the episodes being swapped around — how will the show tell her story if it is out of order? While NCIS: Los Angeles by and large is a procedural show there are things here and there that are a little more serialized. Based on some of what we are seeing at the moment this appears to be one of those said things.

When it comes to Callen and Anna coming back, mostly this storyline will serve as an update as to where the two are now. For Callen, the most important thing is that he continues to show some element of bravery as he attempts to open up his life and let more people in. We hope that this season could result in some more positive steps for him.
