Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 4 preview: Amelia takes on her future

When Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 4 airs on ABC, you’re going to have a chance to see the Amelia story continue. We hope that there are hopeful notes within it given everything heart-wrenching that she’s gone through, but with this show you unfortunately never quite know. Things can often veer into dangerous territory on this show at any moment.

One of the things that we should point out almost right away with this upcoming episode next week is the title: “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head?”. When we first read that weeks ago we didn’t think anything of it; now that we know about Amelia’s brain tumor it’s obviously a very different sentiment and it makes us very much concerned for whatever story could be coming up.

Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 4 synopsis – “Amelia confronts a difficult situation, while Meredith deals with the fallout from her conversation with Nathan. Maggie finds herself at an awkward family dinner, Jackson receives big news, and Richard and Bailey search for the stars of tomorrow.”

It’s clear that the Amelia story is going to be the one we’re the most worried about in the weeks to come, but there are also some other moments of great concern sprinkled into this episode. For example, what’s going to be happening with Meredith and Nathan? They clearly still have some element of feelings for each other, but do they act on that with Megan still around and in the picture? Meanwhile, what is going to happen with Maggie? Who is at this awkward dinner with her? Maybe that’s the source of this episode’s comedy; given what some of the other people on the show are wrestling with it absolutely feels like we’re going to need some sort of laughter here and there.

there was a brief preview that aired during the new episode of Scandal that featured Amelia preparing for her next steps, including removing some of her hair in order to prepare for the operation. While a powerful story this is going to be for Caterina Scorsone and the remainder of the cast.
