NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 2 spoilers: Pride is kidnapped!
Update: This episode was originally scheduled for October 17. It will now air October 3.
On this upcoming episode entitled “#1 Fan,” we’re going to have a chance to see someone completely different go after Pride. This is someone named Martha Roberts who doesn’t seem to hold a grudge against him at all; as a matter of fact, she rather admires him and all of his work and seems convinced that the two have to work together in order to stop someone. She basically wants to star in a buddy-cop movie with him, with the major issue being that he’s not an actively willing participant.
For more on this, take a look at the synopsis below:
“While preparing to leave on a fishing trip, Martha Roberts (Dendrie Taylor), an erratic whistleblower who calls Pride her mentor, kidnaps him to help her locate a serial killer targeting young women in the Gulf of Mexico, on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, Tuesday, Oct. 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”
If you recognize Dendrie Taylor in the photo above or during the episode, she’s played Luann for multiple episodes of Sons of Anarchy in addition to being a part of several episodes of True Blood as Beverleen. American Vandal and Ghost Whisperer are also among her credits. She actually appeared in an episode of the flagship show almost a decade ago in a different role. (This does tend to happen quite a bit with franchises.)
While we certainly don’t love what’s happened to Pride here for Pride’s sake, there is quite a bit of content within this episode that looks interesting on paper. Anything that this show can do to shake up the formula is great, and this isn’t just a classic case of a bad guy kidnapping a good guy and holding them hostage for money or information. This character seems to actually fancy themselves a hero who thinks that they can use Pride for good. What he’s ultimately going to need to figure out in this episode is how to handle this “partnership” well enough so that nobody gets hurt, and he can get out of it okay in the end. He may need some help from the remainder of the team.
