Stitchers season 3 episode 8 spoilers: Now with an X-Files vibe

Stitchers season 3 episode 8

There’s something very strange about Stitchers season 3 episode 8 as we move into the episode airing — how little there is known about it.

Think in terms of this: Freeform has announced already the synopses and episode titles for the final two episodes of the season — the finale, “Maternis,” seems to be a callback to the excellent “Paternis” from earlier this season. However, they have not revealed much of anything when it comes to 3×08 yet, and there is no real explanation why.

If we had to guess, it would be because there is something very important at the core of the hour that the network does not want spoiled in advance. This is something that is almost standard practice for major networks these days — they don’t want to give away a wide abundance of details for certain stories, and as a result of that, they stay mum on them beforehand. We’re actually surprised that Game of Thrones doesn’t do it more often.

What we can say for now (check back after the episode for a promo and analysis there) is that the search for Kirsten’s mom should heat up now that she and Cameron are on the same page again. She knows that her abilities are improving, and that time is of the essence just because how many different forces are all at play at the moment. She’s going to need to act and act rather quickly, in the event that she wants to achieve what she’s hoping to when it comes to bringing her mother back.

Do we have some other questions before this episode? Absolutely. Take, for example, the status of Camille and Amanda, and the obvious trust issues between Kirsten and Ivy that are more than likely only going to accelerate from here. Much of this is exciting and should weave its way carefully into the end of the season. From there, we will get a chance to see if there is any sort of epic cliffhanger that leaves everyone on edge as to if the show gets renewed for another season or not. At present, we’d say that the show is firmly on the bubble.

Update: More information!

We now have more in terms of what’s coming, and we’re starting to wonder if it was just a mistake that it wasn’t on the press site. There’s nothing all that spoilery here at all, and it looks almost like a fun homage to The X-Files.

Episode synopsis – “The Stitchers team investigates the murder of an ex-Air Force officer who is found murdered, and the trail leads to a former co-worker and renowned UFO expert. The memories in the stitch have the team wondering if UFOs and extraterrestrial beings really exist.”
