The Exorcist season 2 spoilers: John Cho officially on board
Chalk this up as some excellent The Exorcist season 2 scoop — man of many talents John Cho is coming aboard!
What we know by now is this: According to a new report coming in via TVLine, Cho (whose credits include Star Trek, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Selfie, Sleepy Hollow, and Go On) is going to be appearing in a series-regular role as Andrew Kim, a mysterious man who runs a group home for five at-risk foster kids. He was at one point a child psychologist, and how he helps raise these kids off on a private island located near Seattle. (The show has a lot of creepiness that they can play up with all of the rain that happens out there!)
As for how the show’s other main characters in Father Ortega and Marcus Keane find him, let’s just say that one of the children living with Andrew is targeted by something powerful and most-likely evil. He could need a little bit of help with that, and we imagine things will spiral into all sorts of creepy / interesting directions from there. This is a show that really does live on the creep factor, and we absolutely feel like it’s a show that has a sense of excitement and feels as though it even has a new lease on life at the moment. Just look at things in this way: Did you ever think at this point six months ago that we’d be getting a second season? We wanted to think so, but it was a show firmly on the fence.
We’re not surprised at all that we are getting in turn a completely new story, mostly because The Exorcist is a rather difficult show to simply replicate because of the fact that you can only watch someone get possessed so many times. Eventually, it does start to lose a little bit of its luster.
What are the overall expectations?
Given that this is a new season and a new story, we hope that The Exorcist season 2 will be able to show off some sort of ratings stability. We specifically mean that we hope to see it averaging somewhere along the lines of a 0.6-0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic. If it does that, there is a reasonably good chance Fox brings it back. This is the perfect sort of fall show to air around Halloween time, when there is an appetite for these sort of crazy programs. The only thing that is somewhat of a bummer is that it airs on a network that tends to take a lengthy hiatus for the World Series at around this time, which therefore does limit a little bit more of its potential.
Now, we turn this over to you
