Gotham season 4 spoilers: What recurring villain is returning?
Recently, one of those details is coming in the form of an iconic Batman villain who is for sure coming back to the show. In a new post on Twitter, Danny Cannon revealed a new photo showing that you won’t have to wait long in order to see Zsasz coming back on the show. He’s one of the most notorious villains that we’ve got in the universe, and what is a little more impressive about this skill set is that he somehow still finds a way to persevere even in spite of the fact that he’s been hunted many times already. He’s one of those villains who we do think is always in danger, even if he is alive when Batman is battling criminals in the present. We do think that at some point, we could see a change when it comes to the story’s canon.
So how will he be involved in the new season? That’s one of the prevailing mysteries given how open-ended the end of season 3 left many of the storylines. For example, we still don’t know if Barbara Kean is still alive, and while Butch is Solomon Grundy, you still have to wait for him to fully embrace that role. (Personally, we’re just glad it’s happening since it means getting to see more Drew Powell on the show.)
Alas, one of the biggest issues now is going to be waiting between now and when the new season of Gotham ultimately premieres on Fox this fall. Remember that the series is coming up on Thursday nights this year after spending the previous three years in the Monday timeslot.
As for another tease…
Just in case the first one does not work enough for you, how about one setting up the famed Iceberg Lounge? This locale is of course historic for its tie to the Penguin, and we heard its name uttered for the first time at the end of season 3, and this new photo from Cannon below gives you a sense that it’s coming. Given that Oswald had the time to get this fancy design made, it may be fair to say that there is some sort time jump coming on the fourth season — that also should give Bruce a little bit more time to perfect some of those crime-fighting skills that he displayed at the tail end of season 3 when we saw him in costume for the first time.
