Poldark season 3 ratings level off — great news!

For everyone nervous about the Poldark season 3 ratings, we’ve got some more evidence that you don’t need to be all that nervous anymore.

The latest ratings are in for this past episode, and by and large, these are super-positive. After all, the show drew in total 4.6 million viewers, which is about even with the previous episode. These may be lower than some season 2 episodes, but this is absolutely good enough to merit MANY more episodes of the BBC show, and not just the amount that is in the recent season 4 renewal coming up for 2018. (Alas, we’ll probably be waiting for a while in order to know whether or not there is a season coming up beyond this one, regardless of whatever the ratings are.)

Our hope is now that Poldark retains this viewership the rest of the season. After all, why wouldn’t it when you think for a moment about how well it’s done to date? It’s also not like there is some increased competition coming up in the weeks or months to come.

Meanwhile, over on ITV The Loch ended up drawing a total of 3.8 million viewers per Telly Mix, which is a nice performance for it but clearly where it’s going to be leveling off for the time being. It’s already lost a decent chunk of viewers since its premiere, but it is still doing well by British TV standards. You do have to remember that there are a lot fewer viewers available over there than in America.

If you’re talking here in terms of shows that are performing on social media, then obviously Big Brother UK and Love Island are two that are getting a lot of buzz these days. Still, Poldark more than holds its own there, and delivers a fantastic bit of entertainment that you really can’t quite get anywhere else. That’s the appeal of the show — it brings a little something for everyone, whether it be action, drama, romance, or history.
