Lucifer season 3 premiere date: When will Tom Ellis, cast return to Fox?
Herein lies the good news first and foremost: There WILL be a third season of the series, and odds are, this season will run for at least 22 episodes. There are already four season 2 episodes in the bank that are standalone in nature and are being brought over, and these will air at some point during the run. It’s possible that producers could make only 18 more episodes for season 3, or it’s possible the show goes beyond that and does 24-26. It all depends on the scheduling needs that Fox has.
There are also two more things worth noting that are going to be different about season 3 on a behind-the-scenes level.
1. The timeslot – While the first two seasons aired following Gotham on Monday nights, season 3 will premiere at 8:00 p.m. Eastern before leading into the new X-Men universe series The Gifted. Meanwhile, Gotham will air on Fox Thursday nights. For more on this subject, just be sure to head over here to see the full fall schedule right now.
2. The filming location – After spending the first two seasons using Vancouver to double as Los Angeles, the show is actually heading to California for season 3, taking advantage of some tax incentives to film in the city. This could mean that the show may take advantage more of some filming locales around the city and present a more authentic feel than ever before.
The one bummer in this article is strictly this: There is no premiere date for season 3 just yet. Odds are, it will be in late September, given that this is when most shows for Fox tend to premiere. They don’t want to run the risk of starting a whole lot later than that, given that you’re running the risk of only getting to air a small handful of episodes before the World Series airs and consequently derails just about everything that you’ve got planned.

As early September as possible. Not sure why they wait so late these days to start the fall season when school has people back in their normal routines. I really NEED Chloe to know the truth…not knowing is keeping her from being part of the important stories and is damaging the connection between her and Lucifer. I also REALLY need the writers to be more careful with the mythology, stop creating contradictions and stop diminishing Lucifer so badly. Everyone’s talking about it. He doesn’t resemble the Lucifer of the pilot anymore. He can develop emotionally without losing his core traits. I need these things to happen because I love this show and want it back for a fourth season.
