Is The Son new tonight on AMC? Looking ahead to final episodes
Alas, there is a week off because of the Memorial Day holiday this week, which means that if you are a considerable fan of the Pierce Brosnan Western, you will have to wait around until Saturday, June 3 in order to see the next installment of the show play out. Given that this one will be getting you fairly close to the end of the season, you better believe that this one will have a further implications for the finale airing on July 10.
In the event you do want to get some further news regarding what’s coming when the show returns, what is offered below is the short synopsis — one that continues to show how the lives of Brosnan’s Eli are so different in the two different eras of his life — and yet, there is a commonality to the two stories in that he needs to trust those close to him in order to ensure his survival:
“Young Eli is forced to trust a strange ally to survive in 1849. In 1915, Eli’s past guides him to a choice that puts him at odds with Phineas.”
As for the preview below, this offers you another small tease for what will be coming … and what will also hopefully satisfy many people out there who are looking for the stakes to be raised as the season wraps up. (Take a look at Young Eli here versus Young Eli in the pilot — quite a transformation already, no?)
For the record, there is not a need for AMC to hold off on this episode for the sake of preserving ratings. After all, The Son is officially coming back for a second season! The renewal was confirmed by the network, and that’s certainly welcome given that these shows airing on Saturdays is always a cause of concern; yet, this network is finding a way to make it work and even build a brand out of it. Just ask Hell on Wheels, or the upcoming final season of Turn: Washington’s Spies.
