First Zoo season 3 promo introduces ‘hybrids’ and other craziness

Zoo season 3 promo

Looking for a Zoo season 3 promo before the show’s big return this summer? Look no further! CBS has unleashed a video for you below.

As for a first impression, how about this: The show looks every bit as silly and ridiculous as it did through the first two seasons, but that is also precisely what you want. This show is the best sort of summer nonsense — often, it’s incredibly cheesy, but it’s also funny at times, scary at others, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun to watch. There are some things that this show does that you absolutely will not see anywhere else on TV.

This promo also introduces to you to some new, freaky-looking creatures known as “hybrids” that are going to twist the central component of the show on its heads. (Remember that with the ending of season 2 in mind and the time jump, the animal attacks can’t occur in the way in which they once did.) The synopsis below for the season does a good job of explaining the presence of these crazy creatures further:

“In season three, the year is 2027 and the world has reached a tipping point: as the human population continues to dwindle due to the sterility problem, an equally devastating threat rises in the form of “the hybrids,” an army of unstoppable lab-made creatures, hell-bent on destroying Mankind. Zoo returns for its third season on Thursday, June 29 at 10/9c.”

Beyond the hybrids turning up and wrecking some sort of awesome damage, there are always a couple of other things worth noting:

1. Remember that all of humanity seems to be sterilized now, and the show’s jumped forward a good ten years in time. With the landscape of the world being so different, the same can be said for the emotional headspaces of so many different people.

2. An older Clementine showed up in the closing minutes of the finale, claiming to know where Mitch was located. The fact that Mitch is apparently still alive is going to be surprise enough to a whole lot of people out there.

Beyond all this, there are some updates related to Zoo that are certainly worth checking out if you haven’t seen them already.

What do you think about the “hybrids” as a way to keep the animal component of the show alive? Sound off in the comments below! Of course, there will be further news related to Zoo released throughout the summer, so be sure to keep coming back. (Photo: CBS.)
