The 100 season 4 finale reaction: About Clarke’s ‘daughter’
The big surprise was that Clarke did manage to survive, and when we saw her in the future, she had a new companion with her. Who was this? As executive producer Jason Rothenberg explained to TVLine after the fact, she is someone who will be very much important to the series’ future:
“…It’s not her biological daughter, but what we’ll see in Season 5 is that this relationship is hugely important for Clarke. She’s a Nightblood named Maddie, and she’s been with her for five years. They are, for all intents and purposes, bonded the way a mother and daughter would be. So Clarke loves her, and her decision-making process has changed, just as it does for anyone who has a child. … We’ll tell the story of how they came together in Season 5, and how they’ve been surviving as the only two people on the planet — until that ship shows up.”
Finding out more about what is coming up with this relationship in season 5 is one of many interesting things to further explore. To go along with that, there are certainly many other mysteries. For example, what will the relationships be like for many of these characters when they get back together? Will friendships be shattered, and can everyone get along? There are so many good ways in which the show can evolve, and there is also that cliffhanger with the ship at the end that needs to be addressed. It’s certainly possible that allegiances could be so different than they once were.
The reality here is that, one way or another, there’s a heck of a long wait ahead to see where the story goes from here. That’s a lot of time to think, and it should be interesting to see how everything unfolds.

Madi is the only one that I hope makes it out alive and blasts all the sky people in revenge for Lexa. The Clexa adopted kid is cute. Show in general though, a disgrace.
