American Crime Story season 2: Dennis Quaid to play George W. Bush

Dennis Quaid

When American Crime Story season 2 premieres on FX next week, they will certainly have a big name as the President.

Sources confirm that none other than Dennis Quaid is going to be playing the role of George W. Bush on the anthology series, which is focusing its story this time around on Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath of one of the deadliest storms in American history. The “crime” part of it seems to exist mostly in the way in which the aftermath of the hurricane was handled with so many different people dropping the ball at one point or another during the crisis.

Getting Quaid aboard the show is a smart move just from the vantage point of getting someone who is certainly more than capable of drawing viewers into the show, and also playing a very complicated figure who was blamed by many as the person who failed the most to get the people of New Orleans the help that they needed. This was a difficult, emotional situation for so many people, and this show may document that further.

By and large, FX has kept much of the casting / finer details for this season a secret, and it’s already been pushed back past when it was originally expected to air. The plan at present seems to be launching Katrina: American Crime Story in 2018, the same year that the third season about the murder of Gianni Versace is also meant to air. With the success of the first season and the vast critical acclaim that followed it, it makes some sense that there would be a little bit more in the way of expectation to try and make this new batch of episodes as strong as humanly possible. Why would the writers want to do anything less?

More casting is set to be announced in the coming weeks and months; once that information is released, the link here should prove to have all of the information you could want and then some.
