Longmire season 6 notes: Assorted fun; Henry Standing Bear discussion
Let’s start things off here with a discussion of Lou Diamond Phillips’ Henry Standing Bear, one initiated by Phillips himself on Twitter (see below) as he presses forward towards filming the end of the series. He’s been on an incredible journey with this character, one that has encompassed a wide array of twists and turns … and also one that isn’t at the end of the road just yet.
For Henry, the first order of business is clearly going to have to be figuring out a way to survive the situation caused by Malachi Strand. Beyond that, the second order of business is going to be trying to figure out a little bit more of where his relationship stands with Walt Longmire and many other main characters. Of course, you absolutely what to see this relationship move forward and heal as the sixth season goes on.
Quick reminder: Longmire season 6 is going to premiere on Netflix this September.
A little fun and games
The second teaser is posted by Adam Bartley a.k.a. The Ferg on Twitter, and it features himself and Robert Taylor (Walt) engaging in a bit of tomfoolery on the set. This is actually reminiscent of one of those old buddy-cop screwball movies where the two are so eager to catch the bad guy that they routinely get in each other’s way. This is a really great testament to the relationship between Bartley and Taylor, not to mention everyone else on the show that has had an opportunity to bond over the past several years.
Something fun to close on
This is something that just came to us a little bit earlier tonight: Longmire was canceled by A&E a few years ago because it didn’t fit in to what they wanted to do at the time. Now, Longmire has officially outlived the entire A&E scripted slate. That’s an incredible testament to the show’s fans, and certainly the comeback spirit of the little show that could.
