Britain’s Got Talent review: Josephine Lee, Tokio Myers, more audition

Tonight, Britain’s Got Talent aired its latest audition show, and what we saw over the course of this installment was a wide array of performances. Some of them were predictably good, but then there were some others that we didn’t see coming from a mile away.

Below, take a look at some of the notable acts who stepped out on the stage tonight and impressed us in one way or another.

London School of Bollywood – This was a fun performance — though the show probably played it up too much that “normal” Bollywood groups are somehow boring. Aren’t they still entertaining even if this was creative and a step above?

The Miss Treats – Great name for a girl-band. It was a little strange that they’ve been together for a year and never performed, but they had a pretty solid audition. They’ve got an old-soul feel that could make them commercially viable in the future.

Ryan Tracey – He tried to break a world record for making balloon animals. It didn’t quite work out well for him at first, but somehow, he came back and finished it! This was so ridiculous, from the talent itself to the super-serious way in which the Guinness World Record lady was treating it.

Daliso Chaponda – Yay, a comedian! We don’t think that the show has enough talented adult comics, and Daliso was hilarious. He was edgy, creative, and had a really unique point of view. We were hoping to get a Golden Buzzer out of this act, and we did via Amanda Holden! Read more over at the link here.

Sian Pattison – A singer and a mother who was incredibly nervous to go on the stage. Her daughter signed her up. She struggled with the first song, but then when she got into the second song it was very clear that she was in her element. She completely nailed this!

Tokio Myers – It’s tough for pianists to do anything different and own this stage, but Tokio may be one of the most intriguing because you could see the emotion in his face while he played. He wasn’t what you would expect from a piano player, and we could see him being a real emotional figure.

Josephine Lee – A female magician! It’s still fairly rare to see them, so of course we were thrilled to see what Josephine was going to come up with. She came up with a rather interesting play on a levitation trick, and from there she did another very impressive trick. One of the better magic-act auditions we’ve seen on this show.

St. Patrick’s Junior Choir – Really sweet kids, and beyond that, a really great choir that the audience seemed to love. Great song choice in “Somewhere Only We Know,” and Amanda Holden was right in calling this emotional. It certainly was from start to finish.
