Line of Duty season 4 episode 6 (finale) video: Nick Huntley fights back
In the video below via BBC One, you see Nick Huntley effectively do the only thing that he can when you consider the rather-terrible circumstances he now finds himself in — he’s having to defend himself against the charges of murder, ones that seem to be perpetuated further by a frame job seemingly orchestrated by none other than his own wife! It’s a difficult pill to swallow, but this is the situation that he currently finds himself in at the moment. He is going to be in the precarious position of having to figure out how to clear his own name, though it may mean throwing Roz under the bus.
In this preview, Huntley’s defense for some of his actions (including following Roz) is that he thought that she was potentially having an affair. It is clear to investigators that Nick had the means, potentially the motive if Timothy Ifield was romantically involved with Roz, and also the opportunity. We do understand why he could be framed for this in theory, given that Roz is obviously very good at her job. We just don’t think that the story is going to end with Nick behind bars. Roz seems to be the puppetmaster, and sooner or later, there will probably be some evidence that points everything straight at her as the responsible part here.
No matter what does happen over the course of the final episode, we anticipate getting to see one of the more intense stories that we’ve seen from Line of Duty — we’re willing to wager that this may even be one of the strongest seasons yet thanks to the presence of Thandie Newton and some excellent scripts from start to finish. We only hope that the show continues to find big-name guest stars and more complicated cases for the AC-12 to take on from here.
