Lucifer season 2 spoilers: More news on Timothy Omundson appearance

It was a good while ago that we first heard that Timothy Omundson would be appearing on Lucifer season 2. Now, we have more details!

This week, Fox officially revealed some of the first details for the upcoming May 15 episode entitled “God Johnson,” which is going to be the much-anticipated debut of the Galavant and Psych alum in the title role. It goes without saying that Omundson is playing God … or at least, his own version of God. He is a guy who resides at a mental institution. Also, it just so happens that he is the prime suspect in a “grisly” murder that took place at said institution.

We do love that this show will continue to have a strong mystery component to it, but there is a much larger question to be pondered over here: Has Lucifer found his father? “God” knows so much more than the normal man should about him, and as a result of this he does find himself in a rather unique, super-challenging predicament. He doesn’t know if to believe him, but he has to put his feelings to the side as he continues to work towards trying to uncover the truth behind what is really going on here, and that proves to be no easy task.

In the end, hopefully Lucifer finds the real killer, and really regardless of whether or not God is the responsible party, we hope that Omundson comes back just because he’s a real treat in virtually everything that he is a part of. He’s got that innate ability to make you deeply relate and feel for his characters, but also a fantastic sense of humor that translates over into some great comedic moments on all of his shows. We already know that there is a Lucifer season 3, so the next order of business here presumably is finding out if there is a great spot for him on it somewhere.

For now, we realize that we should probably stop and take a deep breath. After all, we’re still a ways away from a third season, and the show is just coming back following a lengthy hiatus on Monday.
