Jacqueline Laurita is leaving The Real Housewives of New Jersey again
However, this time around it doesn’t seem like this is a decision that was entirely of her own doing — instead, it was brought on in part by some decisions on Bravo’s end. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she confirmed that the fallout of her relationship with Teresa Giudice and Melissa Morga has something to do with the network’s lack of interest in bringing her back full-time:
“Unfortunately, I will not be returning. I think the feeling [from the network] is that I no longer have an authentic connection with two of the season’s cast members.”
Laurita did add that she was offered a part-time spot on the new season, but that’s not something that she found exciting at this point in her life after doing so much for the show already:
“I just felt that after being on the show for seven years and putting my time and everything into that, to not have a confirmed full-time decision, with that feeling that I had to kind of try out again, it just didn’t feel right.”
It’s hard to blame anyone from walking away from this show, especially since creatively, it’s no longer anywhere near as exciting as it used to be. Remember the era where there was a ton of interesting relationship conflict between siblings and moments that felt real and genuine? Well, that’s long passed and it feels like now we’re regurgitating the same stuff over and over again. We know that Bravo seems to be really invested on the Teresa story and we get it, but we also don’t think she’s bringing all that much new to the table anymore after all this time.
The new season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is going to premiere a little bit later this season — despite whatever concerns we may have over it, we do know that we’re going to continue to have some updates all about it.
