Once Upon a Time season 6 episode 16 spoilers: Will Emma kill Black Fairy?
At the moment, there’s no synopsis out there for “Mother’s Little Helper,” and one of the only things that we’re able to do is speculate as to the meaning of that. Clearly, co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (who also wrote this episode) are big fans of the Rolling Stones, given that this is a title for one of their songs. This is a show where everything is named for a reason, so it is probably tying back to the episode in some sort of important way.
Once Upon a Time is a show largely about mothers and the relationship with their children, so there are many different possibilities here. You’ve got Emma and Henry, Regina and Henry, Belle and Gideon, Snow and Emma, and even Zelena as possibilities. However, we like to think that this title with its slightly-demented tone may be a reference somehow to Gideon. Maybe it involves Belle, or maybe it involves his surrogate mother in the Black Fairy, otherwise known as one of the worst grandmothers imaginable given what she’s already done to Rumpelstiltskin. We do know that Jaime Murray is returning at some point in the second half of this season. Not only that, but we also know that there is another episode coming simply titled “The Black Fairy.” That should give you a good sense that the writers have many plans to put this character in the limelight.
Promo – Will Emma kill the Black Fairy? This is what was teased in the closing minutes of tonight’s episode, and based on what we saw, it may be the only way to get Gideon off her back for good. Our heart goes out to her, given that this is not going to be an easy task.
Also, giant spiders. Basically, this promo will be giving us nightmares for weeks.
