Prison Break season 5 episode 1 promo: A look ahead; plus, reflections
In the new promo below, you can see Michael Scofield in his latest bind, and an opportunity for Lincoln to find a way to get a man he considers his brother back. We’re going to be in a new country with new rules and a completely new situation; yet, this is in many ways still the same show. It’s about overcoming odds, surviving danger, and a different kind of love that these characters have for each other. If you enjoyed the early seasons of the show on Fox, odds are that you will also enjoy this, as well.
Earlier on Friday, many of the cast and crew members had an opportunity to speak in a panel discussion about the show at WonderCon in Anaheim. For Wentworth Miller, a big part about what he appreciates about the new version of Prison Break is getting to take on a version of the character that is far more weathered than the one he was originally known for. Check out the quote below via Deadline:
“Michael Scofield lives in me, and I think always will, courtesy of playing him for four seasons, but I’m a different man now … When we shot the original, I was 33, 34, so I knew that I had a whole lot of life experience to bring to the table. I think that is one of the things I’m really satisfied to see on screen, is that Michael looks like he’s seen some sh*t—and that’s reflective of the fact that I have, too.”
This revival is meant to be a fairly short one, but will offer up these characters an opportunity for redemption and closure in a way that they didn’t have before. There is no guarantee of more beyond this, but we do feel like this is one is going to be one of the more interesting ratings stories of the year. While The X-Files proved to be a huge success upon its return, can we really expect the same thing here?
