This Is Us finale spoilers: The future within episode 18 (‘Moonshadow’)

Ready for some This Is Us finale scoop? Well, we’ve got a dose of that for you now! “Moonshadow” is the title for the last episode, and just writing those words alone is incredibly sad. Just remember for a few minutes here that following this installment coming on the air, you’ll be waiting a long time to see what’s next. Specifically, you’ll be waiting until we get around to September most likely. We expect that it will be a painful hiatus, but it’s probably not as painful as what’s happened through most of the first season.

Based on what NBC is saying right now, be prepared especially for some big, emotional moments when it comes to Jack as he tries to make things right with Rebecca.

Synopsis – “Jack heads to Cleveland to make things right with Rebecca on the night of her first big gig with the band. Randall, Kate and Kevin make big decisions about their futures.”

In terms of what you are not going to be seeing on the finale right now, be prepared to wait for a little while in order to get some news on what happened to Jack. Based on what creator Dan Fogelman said recently to Variety, this isn’t coming anytime soon:

In terms of seeing the moment where something happened to Jack, that’s a little ways away … Where it will be finally all fully revealed, that’s a ways off.”

Who knows? It’s possible that it could be season 2 or even season 3 before we learn the truth about this. Just remember that with the show’s two-season renewal in mind, there may not be any reason to rush one of the show’s biggest mysteries.

Promo – You get a little sense in here of Rebecca’s performance, but there’s so much more than that also going on here. Remember that you’re also going to be seeing Jack off the wagon, trying to get to her in order to speak his mind. With him feeling the way that he is, though, you have to worry that the worst is ahead in one way or another.

This preview is soft, sentimental, and powerful. It’s basically This Is Us in a nutshell. The fact that we’re coming out of that Kate confession just makes everything harder.
