Ratings: ‘Timeless’ and ‘Supergirl’ inch up while ’24: Legacy,’ ‘APB’ fall
Consider “24: Legacy” now to be the new poster child for the Super Bowl hangover. For years now, we’ve seen the tradition of shows airing after the big game getting little to no benefit from doing so; this game is just the latest example of that now.
Monday’s new episode drew just a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which does put the show around the same place in terms of footing and momentum as some of Fox’s other shows that have aired in the timeslot — think along the lines of “Gotham” or even “Lucifer,” which aired an hour later in the fall. The unfortunate news as of now is that there’s no guarantee that the show will stop bleeding now — it’s had two pretty big drops in a row, and that could continue.
As for some other notable ratings items from the day…
“APB” – For its second episode, the crime series took a huge fall down to a 1.0, which only doesn’t surprise us because of how little the show was getting ratings discussion going into this episode. We’re not altogether shocked by its ratings decline, largely because the promotion for this show was terrible from the jump.
“Timeless” – After falling to a series-low 0.6 last right, the time-travel drama recovered slightly on its way to a 0.7 rating. That’s not going to buy the show a guaranteed renewal, but it’s a small step in the right direction.
“Supergirl” – Meanwhile, the Melissa Benoist series also improved to a 0.8 — the same goes for “Jane the Virgin” later (0.4) in the wake of what happened with Michael at the end of the episode before. Both shows are coming back, but on a night with so many declines, their improvements are worth noting.
“The Celebrity Apprentice” – The show only mustered a 0.9 rating, which may be even further evidence that there’s going to be a cancellation coming. There’s a little bit more news on that we’re going to discuss further over the coming hours.

Timeless is such stylish, emotionally rish sci-fi I don’t know why I thought it would maintain good ratings. Of all the shows mentioned in this article, Timeless is the one that earned a second season. I’m rooting for Legacy also, but I think that franchise’s ship may have sailed after Keifer’s last full season when they failed to capitalize on its popularity with a movie.

Sorry to hear about APB, I like that show but 24:Legacy I do not. I tried to like Timeless but couldn’t and gave up on Supergirl the first season. It wouldn’t bother me at all if they take Celebrity Apprentice off the air.
